Veneers
Our porcelain and composite veneer treatments are designed to enhance the appearance of your teeth, giving you the confidence to smile brightly and live life to the fullest.
Veneers
Veneers are custom-crafted to fit over the front surface of your teeth. Veneers are meticulously designed to enhance the colour, shape, and size of your natural teeth, resulting in a seamless and natural-looking smile.
Veneers offer a wide range of benefits, and can:
Repair broken or chipped teeth
Improve the colour of teeth
Change the shape of teeth
Improve the position of misaligned teeth
Close spaces between teeth
Mask discoloured fillings
Hide stains
We offer two types of veneers — composite and porcelain.
Porcelain
Porcelain veneers are hand-created by a dental technician using a scan of your teeth. In the most gifted hands, beautiful veneers can be created to completely transform a smile.
Depending upon the position of the teeth, little if any drilling of the teeth is required. We therefore often advise cosmetic orthodontic treatments (e.g. Invisalign or cosmetic braces) to patients with crowded teeth prior to porcelain veneers.
Porcelain does not stain or wear easily and will keep its shine and colour for years. Veneers can be made wafer thin to prevent the need for a lot of tooth drilling. Dr Hainsworth has spent years working with the finest technicians to ensure the highest quality finish. On average, porcelain veneers will last 10-15 years before possibly requiring replacement. A night guard is usually advised to help maintain your new smile.
Composite
Composite veneers are carefully created directly onto your tooth using a tooth coloured composite material. Composite is skilfully layered and shaped onto the tooth in small increments to transform the tooth’s appearance and quickly and simply enhance your smile.
This is usually done during a single appointment, although a meticulous planning phase must be completed beforehand, which would typically comprise of a ‘mock-up’ so you can visualise your smile before we proceed.
The great advantage of composite veneers is that where they are suitable, drilling is very rarely required. They are also a lower investment than porcelain veneers. On average, they will last between 5 – 7 years before they need replacing.
